What to Expect
How It Works, Start to Finish
Laser light enters the follicle, the pigment absorbs it and turns to heat, and the follicle is disabled. Over several short sessions, the treated hair thins and eventually mostly stops, so your sideburn line holds without daily upkeep. Because follicles are not synchronized, we space visits a few weeks apart to catch them all, and facial hair can be hormonal, so we set honest expectations up front.
Before: shave the area 24 hours ahead, avoid sun and self-tanner, skip makeup on the day, and mention any medications that affect sensitivity. During: your technician confirms the shape you want, then treats with a cold cryogen spray firing alongside each pulse. Sessions are quick. After: mild redness fades within hours, makeup is fine, and you should use SPF 30 through your course of treatment.

Can I just lower my sideburns, not remove them?
Yes, and that is a common request. We treat only the zone you choose to lower, thin, or clean up, and leave the rest of the sideburn in place. You approve the shape before we begin.
Is it good for women with cheek or sideburn hair?
Very much so. Softening a heavy sideburn or clearing hair that extends onto the cheek is one of our common treatments for women. Where the hair is fine or light, electrolysis handles what laser cannot.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually a short course, since the area is small. The exact number depends on your hair, skin tone, and whether hormones play a role. We give you a realistic range at your consultation.
Is it safe for dark skin?
Yes. Our Nd:YAG laser is well suited to melanin-rich skin, so you get results without the burn and hyperpigmentation risks of the wrong device.
